Job description

Surrounded by a breathtaking South African nature reserve where leopards roam and giraffes graze, DAKTARI Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage offers a volunteer experience like no other. As an indispensable member of our team, you will divide your time between teaching underprivileged local children about environmental protection and caring for injured or orphaned wildlife that call our sanctuary home. Monday through Friday, you will guide eight children (ages 12-15) through engaging lessons on the environment, conservation and important social issues. No teaching experience? No problem! We'll provide you with detailed lesson plans before you arrive. Your days begin at 7 a.m. with animal care tasks and teaching until about 4:30 p.m., followed by social conversations with the children. Evenings are filled with games, swimming and dancing around the campfire. Weekends allow you to explore the wonders of South Africa - from the Kruger National Park to the beautiful Blyde River Canyon. This is not just volunteering; it's becoming part of the DAKTARI family, making friends for life and creating an impact that lasts long after you've gone back home.
