Job description
This 3-12 week volunteer program places you in the middle of healthcare challenges on Zanzibar. You will work alongside local medical staff at a clinic serving underprivileged communities, where you will gain hands-on experience with tropical infectious diseases such as HIV, malaria and tuberculosis. The program offers opportunities to assist with various medical scenarios, from obstetrics and deliveries to treating trauma and burns. Your role will vary based on your qualifications - whether you are a medical professional or student - but all volunteers make a meaningful contribution to patient care while developing creative problem-solving skills in a resource-limited environment. In addition to the invaluable professional experience, you'll live just 300 yards from beautiful beaches, with weekend opportunities to explore the beauty of the island with fellow volunteers. It is the perfect blend of meaningful work and tropical paradise!
The organization charges program fees to make this project possible, we have listed the costs below:
3 weeks (min. stay): €830
8 weeks: €2,214
12 weeks (max. stay): €3,320
